Ramblings - New Blog

I'm having a difficult time keeping up with my email right now and I wanted a way to communicate with my friends without posting things on my main blog that hold no interest to the majority of the 400-500+/day readers. So, this is my place for non-kinky, non-hypnotic things. If you're looking for that, head elsewhere.

To bring you up to date - for the moment everyone seems to be holding their own. My almost 11 year old niece doesn't have leukemia. For a week or so we thought she did, but the biopsy came back normal - yay. The relief we feel is indescribable. My father and Bill are both obviously still ill, but things have settled down into a busy but not as stressful routine.

Other than that, it's turned out to be a beautiful time of year here. The countryside is ablaze with color and the days are crisp. Yesterday the gardener finished raking the leaves into big piles out in front of the house for the City to pick up. I've been tempted to run and jump in them just like we did when we were young; thus far, I've resisted temptation.

We saw An American Haunting the other day. It's a fairly good horror flick based on the Bell Witch. I remember hearing stories about the Bell Witch whenever I was 11 or 12. As the stories went, should you look in a mirror and repeat three times "I'm not afraid of the Bell Witch" - she'll appear behind you. In those days, I never could make myself say it more than twice... maybe I'll try it now ;) I didn't realize that everyone hadn't heard of the Bell Witch until I saw the movie. Apparently, the story is based on "actual events" that occurred during the early 1800s in Red River, Tennessee (not too terribly far from where I live). I guess the story is a Southern thing.

What else... oh... have you been paying attention to the political shenanigans from this week? Sure what John Kerry said wasn't exactly the most tactful thing, but I can't believe that people would actually change their vote because of something uttered by a man who isn't even running in their area. Sigh. Why not vote on ISSUES.

Ok... enough ranting for now. Time to work. I'll post as I can.

If doing this new blog makes you happy and as relaxed as possible, I'm glad you decided to do it.

You make a good point about the John Kerry controversy. People do tend to be influenced by things like this however unreasonable it may be. Many aren't informed about their candidates' positions on issues so they latch onto something like this to help them decide.

Unfortunately not everyone is as intelligent or as well read as you.

i agree, as much as i want people to vote Republican this year, if this is the only reason your voting for our candidates that's pretty sad, but so too are those who saw the whole event and buy the lie that he was trying to make a joke about Bush. That was a total slip from the heart on his part i'm afraid.

Really sexy blog layout. I like it.

What do you think about the "Christian" leader who speaks out against gay marriages while he's been having a three year affair with a man?

To actually vote on the issues would require effort on the American Public's part. Why in the world do you think TVs were invented? To provide us with that information???... of course not... to spoon feed our decisions to us. So why would this be any different? Let the Powers That Be tell us to jerk our knee, our knees jerk. Best PHS I've ever seen!
